Edmund Entin (Eugene Morris Jerome) - is once again thrilled
to be performing on the PPTOPA stage. Other credits with PPTOPA include Howard
in Inherit The Wind, Kurt in Sound of Music, and Tom of Warwick in Camelot. He
has also been ensemble in many PPTOPA productions including Oliver, Fiddler on
the Roof, Guys and Dolls, The King and I, L’il Abner, Anything Goes, and My Fair
Lady. Other credits include Jay in Lost in Yonkers with Main Street Players and
Antonio, Candlewick, and Cat in Pinocchio, Craig in The Last Day of Camp, and
Paul Hasslemen in Silent Snow, Secret Snow both with PPCHS Drama Department.
Some of Edmund’s awards include Best Actor District 13 One Act competition 2002,
All star cast member one act competition 2003, and superior rating for his
monologues at the Individual Events Competition 2003. He would like to thank his
drama teacher, Mrs. Wicht, Marc Dirso, his parents, and his brother, Gary for
all their support.
Heather Lavan (Kate Jerome) - has spent most of her time assessing
“environmentally-challenged” land found throughout our country. Dreaming of ways
to bring our country back to its natural, clean state did a lot for her
imagination. After mastering her craft as an environmental scientist, Heather
embraced the most valuable skill she had honed in the corporate world, her vivid
imagination, and took to the stage. She studied drama at Yale University in
Connecticut and makes her PPTOPA debut in Brighton Beach Memoirs. Heather is a
native to Miami Beach, Florida. She is so excited to be a part of the PPTOPA
community and wants to thank her wonderful family and friends for their love.
Jack Frank Sigman (Jack Jerome) -Retired Submariner and former Master-Class
American Weightlifting Champion. He was last seen being betrayed by an insane
milkman in a Broward on Broadway production. His many professional roles include
Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof and Poppy in Voice of the Prairie. This is his
first portrayal of Jacob Jerome. Jack is married to the nationally recognized
educator, Janet Nislow Sigman.
Ellen Maxwell (Blanche Morton) - is a Media Specialist at Joella C. Good
Elementary, in Miami. A native New Yorker, she studied acting at Herbert Bergoff
Studio and dance at the New York Academy of Ballet and Martha Graham. With an
appreciation of the theatre, she is delighted to rejoin PPTOPA. Several years
ago, she appeared alongside her daughter, Lauren, in The King and I and Oliver.
It’s a privilege to be sharing this experience with the whole cast.
Joey Vengel (Stanley) who’s love for the stage started way back in second grade,
when he stood up in front of the class and sang “Shadow Dancing” by Andy Gibb.
This helped him later in life, when he performed his first stand-up comedy
routine in New York at Grandpa Al Lewis’s Shooting Stars and when he beat out
299 others to get a gig hosting a show for MTV. Brighton Beach Memoirs is
Joey’s fourth role. He starred as Robert in a take-off of the film Boeing
Boeing, Sylvester Stragone in the dinner-theatre comedy Who Killed the Director,
and Christopher Wren in Agatha Christie’s Mousetrap.
Nicole Niefeld (Nora Morton) - is happy to be appearing for the fourth time on
the PPTOPA stage. Throughout the year, she has gone to choral thespian
competitions where she received superiors and critics choice ratings. In the
fall, she will be co-founding The Warehouse Theater Company. Nicole would like
to send loving to her family. “We’ll make it” new and old friends. To the entire
cast and crew, thank you for making this production a joy and pleasure to do.
Finally, Nicole is dedicating this show to Uncle Sonny, you live in us all.
Lauren Maxwell (Laurrie) - is a sophomore at Cooper City High and an active
drama participant. She is excited to be on stage in her fourth performance with
PPTOPA. Previously, she performed in such plays as The King and I, Oliver, and
Fiddler on the Roof. Lauren is proud to be working along side her mother once
again.
Daniel Ben Zadok (Eugene Understudy) - is thrilled to be making his debut at
PPTOPA. His past roles have included Hector/Cheever in The Crucible, Puck in A
Midsummer Night’s Dream, Young Solider in Mountain Language, Mr. Summers in
Identity Crisis, Eugene in Brighton Beach Memiors and various roles in The
Dining Room. He has performed in other various full-length plays, one-acts, and
showcases. Daniel is an International Thespian who has competed at District
Thespian Competition and State Thespian Competition where he achieved excellent
and superior ratings. Daniel’s training is from University Center for the
Performing Arts under the direction of Gilda Pianelli. He would like to thank
Boyd Anderson High School Drama Troupe 1389 and his family for their everlasting
love and support.
Andrew Slane (Stanley Understudy) - is very happy to be performing for the first
time on the PPTOPA stage. He is a sophomore at Western High School and has been
performing since 7th grade. He has appeared in plays such as Lost in Yonkers,
Fools, The Crucile, and winning superiors and critics choice at the thespian
competition for The Philadelphia. He has also performed in the musicals Zombie
Prom, Once Upon a Mattress, How to Eat Like a Child, and Annie. Finally, Andrew
would like to thank his Mom, Dad, Uncle and Aunt Cuho helped him tremendously in
this play, Mr. Flyyn, Mrs. Lavite and all his friends.
Melissa DiFranco (Nora Understudy) - has been away from the
stage, but is happy to be returning to the stage with PPTOPA. She is currently
studying Film History and Theater at the University of Miami. She was last
onstage in three performances with the Gold Coast Opera in Camelot, Rigolleto,
and Oklahoma. She performed as Smitty in How to Succeed in Business Without
Really Trying and Ana in The King and I in a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical
review.
Kimberly Finnegan (Assistant Director) - has been with PPTOPA for five years.
This is her third show as an assistant director. She was last seen onstage in
The Sound of Music. She will be making her directorial debut with Steel
Magnolias in November with PPTOPA. She would like to thank her family, friends,
and boyfriend, Laurence, for all of their love and support.
Janine Cichewicz (Director) is proud to be one of the founding members of PPTOPA
But her greatest accomplishments are her four children Adrian, Andrew, James and
Victoria. By day Janine is a social worker, and by night she is mother, board
member for PPTOPA, actor, set designer and has performed in such shows as
Fiddler on the Roof, Camelot and The King & I. She was Assistant Director for
You Can’t Take It with You and Director for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to
the Forum and Jekyll & Hyde and The Man Who Came to Dinner. Janine would like to
thank her assistant directors, cast and crew for working so hard during the past
eight weeks.
