Kramer
Marcellus Washburn
is
currently Business Vice President of PPTOPA, and has recently directed “Broadway
Bound”, his other directorial accomplishments are Biloxi Blues, The Scarlet
Pimpernel and Inherit the Wind, Mr. Kramer was also the assistant Director with
Jekyll and Hyde the Musical. Mr. Kramer has also appeared in Annie as President
Roosevelt, Arsenic and Old Lace as Teddy Roosevelt, Lil Abner as Earthquake
Magoon, Can’t Take it with you as Mr. Kirby, Wizard of Oz as the Tin man, Guys
and Dolls as Big Julie, and in the ensemble for the following shows; Ragtime,
Carousel, A Funny Thing happened on the way to the Forum, Camelot, Fiddler on
the Roof, Crazy for you, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, and the King and I. Mr.
Kramer also provides for the Sound Engineering for a variety of PPTOPA’s shows.

has been active in community
theater from coast to coast for years. He has been featured in such diverse
roles as Bellamy in
The
Fantasticks, Richard in
The Lion in
Winter and Claude Upston in
Mame. This is his second show
with PPTOPA, having lent his voice to our production of
Carousel.
Marlene Scott
Eulalie Shinn
Is a retired Flight Attendant and a stay-at-home Mom.
Her daughter, Elsbeth is in this production as well, she plays one of the
teen-age girls. "It's great to have the same hobby", she says. Marlene's recent
on stage credits include "Broadway Bound" (Kate Jerome), and "Diary of Anne
Frank" (Mrs. Van Daan). She would like to thank all the great people at PPTOPA
for giving her a start. She would also like to thank her husband for getting her
involved in "The Theatre" in the first place. "Tempus fugits" when you're having
fun.
Kelsie Tempin
Gracie
Shinn is thrilled to appearing in
her fourth PPTOPA production. The 11 year old 6th grader at Walter
C. Young Middle School is an honor roll student who enjoys music, soccer, and
cooking. Kelsie was last seen in the PPTOPA production of
Annie Get Your Gun. She has also appeared in Annie and Fiddler On
The Roof. Kelsie wants to thank her voice coach, Joy, her family and
her friends for supporting her love of the theater.
Kyle Christensen
Winthrop is 9 years old and this is
his third production with PPTOPA. Kyle goes to Panther Run Elementary
school and is in 4th grade. Kyle is very active in sports and plays
soccer, basketball and tennis. He also enjoys going to the beach and
swimming in the pool with friends and family. Kyle is sharing the stage
with his brother Ty. Kyle loves animals and has a dog, 2 cats, birds and hermit
crabs. Kyle loves to work with the folks at PPTOPA. Kyle is very happy to
be part of the cast and is enjoying ever minute of it! Thanks everyone!

Mrs. Paroo
started in the theatre
some 40 years ago, back in Bay City, Michigan with her local community theatre
group, the Bay City Players. She has also performed with the St. Sebastian
Players in Chicago, Illinois, and many theaters in the South Florida area
including The Little Theater of Oakland Park, Pompano Players, Opus Theater, The
Township Center, Broward on Broadway and PPTOPA where she appeared in
Carousel. She is delighted to be playing Mrs.
Paroo, her favorite role with this wonderful group. Other favorite roles include

Natalie McPherson

is happy to be in her Fifth
show with PPTOPA. She has participated in
Annie as Annie,
Beauty and
the Beast as Chip, and
Carousel as a Show Girl and recently
has done
Gypsy (Baby June). She also was in
many commercials and in the 2006 Macy Day Parade. Currently, Natalie has a lead
role in an independent film called “Life’s a Drag.” Natalie would like to thank
her family and her Grandpa for all the love in the world.

Broward on Broadway in December for her debut performance as Jan in
Grease. Denisse has been fortunate
to have participated in local film projects such as the 48 hour film festival,
along with various student and independent films. She would like to thank all

sang in a band alongside my
husband for the past 7 years in numerous hot spots around South Florida and
released a c.d. in 2002. I did a lot of musical theater in high school, (I
played Christine in the Phantom of the Opera, also did Yankee Doodle Dandy and
others) But now I am living my dream being on stage again. To my husband Greg,
thank you for all your love and support, I could have never done it without you.
To my son Gregory, you are the light in my life and you give me so much
inspiration, I love you so much. To all the wonderful people in my family, thank
you and I love you all. Most of all, to my Mother, thank you for sharing your
love of music and theater with me and for always believing I could do anything I

Steve Levine

is the president of Broward on Broadway, is thrilled to
be back on the PPTOPA stage. Steve has been a teacher in the Broward County
School System for 19 years and has been teaching musical theater and chorus at
Parkway Middle School for the Performing Arts for the last nine years. He has
enjoyed being on stage as well as being musical director, having appeared in
shows such as Once Upon a Mattress; Man of LaMancha (with the Main Street
Players); Guys and Dolls in Concert; Carousel; Fiddler on the Roof; The Music
Man; My One and Only; The King and I;
You're a Good Man Charlie Brown; Anything Goes (with PPTOPA; and How to
Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He was the musical director for The
Pajama Game, Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, The Music Man, and Hello Dolly, and
has directed Two by Two and Oliver! Steve thanks his wife and daughters for
their love and support.
Doug Ashton
Salesman/Olin Britt
Brooklyn born with Jamaican roots, last performed in
PPTOPA's Annie Get Your Gun, as Sitting Bull. His debut with PPTOPA was as part
of the ensemble and understudy for Booker T. Washington in Ragtime. In PPTOPA's
and Broward on Broadway's joint effort of Into the Woods, he played the Steward.
With the Main Street Players theatre group he was Mortimer in The Fantasticks;
Sergeant in Pirates of Penzance; The Duke, Dr. Carrasco and Knight of Mirrors in
Man of La Mancha. He enjoys travel, photography, art, music and dancing.

Berger

is
pleased to return to
PPTOPA for his third show, and first on-stage
appearance, after performing as an orchestra member for
Sweeney Todd,
and as assistant musical
director for
Carousel.
He has been a musical
director for many shows in South Florida, including
Camelot, Bye Bye Birdie, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way
to the Forum, Guys and Dolls,
and
many others. He is the musical director for Broward on Broadway's upcoming
production of
Grease.
Jerry is especially pleased
to be joining his lovely wife, Lori (Mrs.Paroo), onstage for their third time performing
together in this wonderful, typically American show.
Jeff Streitfeld
Oliver Hix; Salesman
a lawyer in the community since 1974 and a Broward
County Circuit Judge since 1991, Jeff is excited about returning to PPTOPA,
where he appeared last year as Daddy Warbucks in Annie and Jack Jerome in
Broadway Bound. A former
professional entertainer in the Washington, D.C. and Tampa Bay areas, Jeff is a
member of the Master Chorale of South Florida and a former member of the Florida
Philharmonic Chorus. Jeff's past
roles include The King of Siam/The King and I, Tevye/Fiddler on the Roof,
Lancelot/Camelot, Matthew Harrison Brady/Inherit the Wind, and Claudius/Hamlet.
Bernard Lawrence
Conductor/Constable
is a member of the PPTOPA board. Working with
this wonderful cast has been an enriching and rewarding experience.
He has performed for the past 16 years with the Century Village Repertory
Group, as well as the Kings and the Royal Ladies. singing assemble. In addition,
I have appeared with PPTOPA acting group in "Fiddler on the Roof", "Beauty
and the Beast", "Annie", "Carousel", "Inherit the Wind", "The Scarlet
Pimpernel", "Jekyll and Hyde", "My Fair Lady", "Anything Goes", "Arsenic
and Old Lace", "Lil Abner". Other credits include "The Jazz Singer", "The Secret
Garden" and "The Loving Child". I would like to thank my understanding wife
Doris, for her love, patience and support.
Jennifer Roth

has been performing since the
age of 6 when she joined the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theater. Most
recently she played Ruth in FLCT's production of Pirates of Penzance, as well as
Nimua in Broward on Broadway's production of Camelot and Gymnasia in The Boca
Raton Theater Guild's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She
dedicates this performance, and every performance, to her mother.
Lauren Cohen

is honored to be appearing in
The Music
Man. Having started in
theater at a young age, at the age of 15, she is proud to say that she has
played many roles. Favorite roles include Jiminy Cricket (Pinocchio), Tiger Lily (Peter Pan), Happy (Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs), Miss Preen (The Man Who
Came To Dinner), and Dorothy (The Wizard
of Oz). She is also
currently working on stage productions of
Cats and
Out of The
Frying Pan. Many thanks to

Shayne Leighton

currently attends Alexander W. Dreyfuss Jr., School of
the Arts in W. Palm Beach for theater and am in my sophmore year. Performed with
the Hip Hop Kidz in the 2005 Macys Thanksgiving day parade. Theater credits
include Into the Woods, as the Witch, and a currently touring production of a
cabaret style show called "Babes on Broadway". Shayne would like to thank my
mother, Jayne and manager Aimee for their support.
Jay Maxwell
Producer/Charley has been a charter member of PPTOPAfor many years. Jay
is looking forward to taking on Professor Harold Hill. Jay dedicates this show
to his recently departed mother. May she rest in peace.
Deborah Hartner

Dunlop
is excited to performing in her first PPTOPA musical.
Recent credits include Into the Woods (The Witch) and The Fantastiks
(Louisa) with Theatre International in Leysin, Switzerland.
Deborah also received an Irene Ryan scholarship nomination for her
performance as Elizabeth Proctor in Valparaiso University's production of The
Crucible. Deborah graduated this
year from Valparaiso with a degree in Theology and a minor in Musical Theatre.
Kim Christensen
Mrs.
Squires/Ensemble
is on the stage for the
second time and is happy to be sharing it with her two boys Ty and Kyle once
again. Kim works for Cisco Systems during the day and spends free time
with her husband Bill and her family. Kim really enjoys the time spent
participating in Music Man.
Melody White
is a native of Florida
and is thrilled to be joining the cast of
The Music Man. She
started dancing at the age of five and theatre training began in high school.
Melody performed in Footloose, The Energy Source, Jacksonmania, Guys and
Dolls, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Star Search, and now the Music Man for the
2nd time. Melody's two favorite
people to work with in the show are Florence and Michael.
Julian Pothemont
born in Brooklyn
NewYork, and raised in Pembroke Pines Florida. For some one who is only 15 and
attends Pembroke Pines Charter High School, hes an Amazing dancer, and Hes
really going to go far in his career as an actor and a professional dancer. So
far Hes with a Company called Popstarz, they bring in a celebrity choreographer
every week to train with him and his fellow dance-mates, Julians 2 Favorite
chreographers are Brice Vick (Ashanti and Remy Ma's Choreographer) and Bobby
Newberry (Pussycat Dolls Choreographer), Julian also just signed with a manager
Mary Genovese for "Marys Special People" and everything is going well for him.
Julian Thanks God, family, and friends, for always being there for him.
Especially his 2 most favorite people in the world His Mother (Nadine Miles) and
Grandmother (Joan Miles).
Sarah Gonzalez
has participated in different
plays and musicals, when attended Parkway Middle School (SOTA), like Once on
this Island, Wiley and the Hairy Man, Oedipus Rex , and Brady Bunch. She
also had participated in Live Performances like The International Latin
Competition in Downtown Miami, and Honk!
Alicia Williams
The Music Man is Alicia's
first production at PPTOPA and she is very excited to be prat of the cast. She
is a student of the American Musical Theatre program at Cypress Bay High and has
been involved in numerous plays and productions in school and church. Alicia
loves theater and hopes that her singing and few dancing skills will greatly
improve her theater performance(s).
Emilie Colón
Edith is thrilled to be making her
P.P.T.O.P.A. debut. Emilie is a 10
year old 5th grade honor roll student,
she enjoys soccer, writing short fiction and shopping in New York City with her
big sister Amanda. Emilie was last
seen in NYC, at the Orpheum Theatre, where she made her stage debut by
performing her own original short monologue.
Emilie would like to thank her family and friends (especially Naty &
Steph) for all their support. But a
special thank you goes to her 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Cosentino,
for believing in her like no one else.

Ty Christensen
Barney Hix/Ensemble
is a 12 year old boy and this
is his third production with PPTOPA. Ty goes to Silver Trail Middle School
and is in 7th grade. Ty enjoys
tennis and basketball. He loves the ocean and hanging out with friends. Ty
has a brother Kyle who is Winthrop in the play. Ty is sharing the stage
with some old friends and is happy with all the new friends he has made by being
part of this show.
Elsbeth Scott
Rachael
is in the 7th grade and is 12 yrs. old. Elsbeth loves acting, singing, dancing,
swimming and traveling.
Music Man
is Elsbeth's third production with PPTOPA and her past shows have been
Annie Get Your Gun
and
Fiddler on the Roof.
This is Elsbeth's first show with her mom, Marlene(Eulalie), and she is also
performing with one of her good school friends, Ashley. Elsbeth also thanks her
dad for getting her involved in the theatre and now she loves it. She can't wait
to perform in front of her family, friends, and teachers, and as they all say,
"break a leg!"
Ashley Lokken
is in the 7th grade and
attends Silver Trail Middle. She enjoys acting and singing and got selected to
be placed in the hardest singing group in Maine, her hometown. She is happy to
be acting with her best friend Elsbeth and Elsbeth's mom. This is Ashley's first
community theatre performance and is very excited to perform in front of her
family, friends and teachers.
Michael Orband
has enjoyed working on
The Music Man very much. He was also
Dr. Bradley in The Man Who Came to Dinner, and is currently Mr. Kenny in Out of
the Frying Pan. He would like to thank his friends and family for being there
for him.
Nicole Bugay is
thrilled to be performing in her second PPTOPA production. She was last seen in
the PPTOPA production of Annie Get Your Gun. Nicole is a seventh grade honor
roll student at St. Bartholomew School. She enjoys soccer, horseback riding,
singing, and dancing, as well as acting. Nicole would like to thank everyone who
has encouraged her love of acting!
Gordon Levine
Salesman/Ensemble
was thrilled to have recently directed Broward on
Broadway's production of Camelot, as well as the previous season's Guys and
Dolls in Concert. He has also directed Arsenic and Old Lace and The Odd Couple.
He has appeared locally in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Mr.
Bratt), Oliver! (Mr. Bumble), and Oklahoma! (Andrew Carnes), Fiddler on the roof
{Rabbi}, to name a few. gordons last apearance at pptopa was in sweeney todd.
Michael Day
Musical
Director
is a music graduate from
McGill University in Montreal. He has performed and directed in a variety of
settings for the last twenty years. For several years he has enjoyed working
with all the talented players of this organization. (Sound of Music, Jekyll &
Hyde, My Fair Lady, Scarlet Pimpernel, Crazy For You, Sweeny Todd, The Wizard of
Oz, Ragtime and Carousel) He would like to thank his wife Janice for her ongoing
love and support.
Florence Andrews
Director
is the artistic director for
PPTOPA and an active board member since 1993, when PPTOPA was first formed. She
has directed many of PPTOPA’s shows. She also handles ticket & group sales,
costumes, etc. She directed the highly successful, critically acclaimed,
productions of Ragtime and My Fair Lady. Her entire life has been dedicated to
the theatre. She dedicates this show to the memory of her father, mother, and
two sisters, Eileen & Joan. |
