DARLENE SHOLTIS (Maria Rainer) - is thrilled to reprise her role as Maria after 17 years. She is also happy to share the stage with her daughter, Lindsay. Her past credits include The King and I, Guys and Dolls, Camelot, Hello Dolly, Kismet, Charlotte’s Web, The Christmas Carol, & The Passion Play, which she directs annually. Darlene wishes that the sound of music to follow her children all the days of their lives. TERRANCE (TERRY) STEWART (Captain VonTrapp) first learned to perform for an audience as a soloist in the church choir, and later enjoyed participating in musical comedy productions while in high school. He then starred in a junior theatre production of The Night of January 16th. the year after graduating from Northeast High School in 1967. Twenty-five years passed before he again stepped onto the stage to star as the King in the well received 1993 P.P.T.O.P.A. production of The King and I . He also joined this group in the 1998 production of Guys and Dolls and reprised his role of the king in The King and I. In his professional life, Terry enjoys working as an Assistant City Manager with the City of Pembroke Pines after a twenty-five year career as a firefighter and Fire Chief. Pembroke Pines is a thriving, successful community, and serving as an Assistant City Manager can be demanding at times. He considers his involvement with P.P.T.O.P.A. as highly enjoyable and a great stress relief. Terry thanks his beautiful wife Vivian and his daughter Veronica for giving up some of their time with him so that he can do this. He also wishes to acknowledge his son Terry, his wife and grandson. Finally he thanks P.P.T.O.P.A. for its role in bringing an important element of the arts to the residents of Pembroke Pines and Southwest Broward. JULIE BROWN REICH (Elsa Schraeder) - A native of the San Francisco Bay Area where she is a past receipent of the prestigious Marin Music Chest Award. Julie brings to the PPTOPA stage a variety of experience including Daisy Mae in L’il Abner, Marian Paroo in Music Man, and Tuptim in The King and I. She is thrilled to be repeating on stage her role as the wonderfully self-absorbed Elsa Schraeder. Julie dedicates her performance to her Suillie, Bob...”Somebody wonderful married me!” LOU MORHAM (Max Detweiler) - has been appearing on stage for over 50 years. Some of his performances include Pseudelous in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the Devil in Damn Yankees, Nicely-Nicely in Guys & Dolls, and Marrying Sam in L’il Abner. The list goes on & on. Lou was also selected in 1996 to be one of the Olympic torchbearers. Lou and his wife, Lenore, recently retired and last Valentine’s Day celebrated 48 years of marriage. MERRILYN KRAMER (Liesl) - is a junior at Flanagan High School. She has been an active member of PPTOPA for 4 years. She has been in performances such as Guys and Dolls, L’il Abner, and Anything Goes. She is also very pleased to be working along side such a wonderful cast. JASON BILTMAN (Friedrich) - was last seen in the 8 Carbonell Award winning show Joseph and the Amazing Techincolored Dreamcoat at the Actors Playhouse. His stage career includes Doody in Grease, Tinman in The Wiz, Cratchet in Christmas Carol, and Henry in Fantasticks. Jason would like to thank his parents, sisters and good friends Mel and the rest for their support. A special thanks to his vocal coach and good friend, Nina Maulding. ERIN MULCAHY (Louisa) - is junior at Flanagan High School, where she plays flute in the wind ensemble. Outside of school, Erin gives flute lessons and takes voice lessons. Erin sends a “break a leg” to all of her “brothers” and “sisters” in the show. She also wishes to thank her real brother, Matt, and her parents for their constant love and support. LINDSAY SHOLTIS (Brigitta) - is in her 3rd show with PPTOPA. She was last seen in L’il Abner, The King and I, where she shared the stage with her mom and sister, Ashley. Lindsay is currently studying with PPTOPA Jr.’s drama class. GARY ENTIN (Kurt) - is happy to be working with his twin brother, Edmund, and his father. He has appeared in Oliver, Fiddler of the Roof, School House Rocks, Guys and Dolls, King and I, and Tom of Warwick in Camelot. He also co-owns a movie production company with Edmund, which has been on NBC. Gary is proud to be on the PPTOPA stage once again and hopes to have a long career with PPTOPA. EDMUND ENTIN (Kurt) - is honored to be in his eighth performance with PPTOPA. He is glad to be working with his brother and is looking forward to many other productions together. He has been in Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof, King and I, Guys and Dolls, L’il Abner, Anything Goes, and Tom of Warwick in Camelot. On behalf of Edmund and Gary, they would like to thank their parents for all of their support. SARA MERSON (Marta) - is 9 1/2 years old in the 4th grade at University School. When she goes up, Sara would like to be a singer & actress. Sara has enjoy 2 year at French Woods Camp, a performing arts camp in NY. Sara’s credits including Gretl in Sound of Music, The King and I, and The Jungle Book. In her free time, she enjoys piano, soccer, gymnastics, and tennis. Her parents, Robin & Charles, and her brother, Andrew are very proud of her and her accomplishments. TAELOR VOGLER (Gretl) - is in kindergarten at Griffin Elementary School. This is her first time on stage. She is happy to be a part of PPTOPA and looks forward to a beginning stage career with PPTOPA. She would like to thank her family for all of their support. KRISTOFER FINNEGAN (Franz) - is no newcomer to the PPTOPA stage. He has appeared as Harry the Horse in Guys and Dolls, Protean in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Available Jones in L’il Abner, and Luke in Anything Goes. He is happy to an active board member with PPTOPA and to be on stage with his sister and working with his brother. TROY MERANDA (Rolf Gruber) - is making his 2nd appearance with PPTOPA. Before he moved to Florida, Troy has been in many productions before. He has been singing and dancing since the 4th grade. His credits include Snow White, Cindrella, Our Town, Wizard of Oz, Meet me in St. Louis, and many more. He currently works with Maroone and plans to continue his career performing in acting. KIMBERLY FINNEGAN (Frau Schmidt) - is happy to be on the PPTOPA stage as an actress, set builder, and newly elected secretary on the PPTOPA board. She would like to thank her family and friends for all their support over the last 1 1/2 year and their continuing support. LINDA ROBERTS (Mother Abbess) - is appearing with PPTOPA for the first time, however, she is no stranger to the stage. She has appeared in many high school, college and community theater productions including Carousel, The Wizard of Oz, Mammy in L’il Abner, Guienevere in Camelot, Mrs. Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie, Mimi in Can-Can, and Little Red Ridinghood in Into the Woods. Originally from Western New York, Linda resides in Sunrise, where she works as the Operations Lead for the Sports Authority at Sawgrass Mills. MICHELLE FERNANDEZ (Sister Margaretta) - is making her first appearance with PPTOPA. She is a graduate student in English at Florida Atlantic University. Michelle has sung in various church, school & community choirs. She would like to thank her family and friends for all of their support. DIANE MURPHY (Sister Berthe) - made her PPTOPA debut last fall as a Passenger in Anything Goes. Her past theatrical roles include Julie Jordan in Carousel, Cindrella in Cindrella, Glenda, the good witch in The Wizard of Oz. Diane, a cat lover, live in Pembroke Pines with her faithful feline, Sunshine. She is a certified human resources professional employed with ADP-Miami. KELLY SCAVONE (Sister Sophia) - is thrilled to be participating in the 3rd production with PPTOPA. She was recently seen as Erma in Anything Goes. Her past productions include Marta in Sound of Music, Oliver, and Annie. Kelly hopes to continue taking part in more production productions with PPTOPA in her future. ALVIN ENTIN (Herr Zeller) - has played numerous comic roles in prior PPTOPA productions. After Pellinore, Marrying Sam, Senex and Uncle Arvide, Herr Zeller is a real change of pace. Actually, Alvin thinks its fun to play a villian for once, but he promises not to make a career of it. Alvin is chairman of the Board of PPTOPA and has also performed for Broward on Broadway. JAY MAXWELL (Baron Elberfeld) - has been a permanent fixture with PPTOPA for the past 6 years. He is dedicating this show to his daughter, Lauren, who is studying for her bat-mitzuah and unable to do the show. TONY PAIGO (Priest) - was last seen as Senator Jack S. Phogbound in L’il Abner. He has worked with PPTOPA for 5 years in many roles. He got his start with HML Theater as Peter in 40 carats. He was also the Lighting Director at U of F in 1977-1978. He is proud to be this show with his son, Anthony. He would like to thank his wife for all of her love and support. ANTHONY PAIGO (Nazi) - was last seen as Lonesome Polecat in L’il Abner. He has been in past shows and enjoys acting. He first started with PPTOPA as a back stage helper in Fiddler on the Roof. His first time on stage was in The King and I. He enjoys playing football and hanging out with his friends. CHRISTINA IZGUIERDO (Nun) - is a newcomer to the PPTOPA stage. She is very excited about being a part of the cast. She has been performing at her school since kindergarten in various shows, She is hoping to be on stage in future PPTOPA performances. DAVID LADOLCETTA (Nazi) - is a 10th grader at Flanagan High School and has been involved in music for 5 years. He has been a trumpet player in the Flanagan Marching Concert and Jazz Band for 2 years. In the fall, he played Anything Goes. This is David’s first time on stage. HILLARY BERGER (Nun) - is making her stage debut with PPTOPA and is living every second of it. She is looking foward to be involved in future productions, while also spending time with films and commercials. She would like to thank her family for their love and support. JUDY LAZARO (Nun) - is thrilled to be making her debut performance with PPTOPA. She is proud to have studied acting at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and at the creative workshops with Stewart Solomon. She can also be seen around town with the Dagmar Comedy Troupe and various graduate student films. She would like to thank her family and friends who continually support and nourish her dreams. LINDSEY DHANS (Nun) - is a newcomer to the PPTOPA stage. She gained experience in singing and acting through roles with her church. She is a sophomore and honors student at Flanagan High and is actively involved in church activities and her school’s Bible Club. JULIET WEST (Nun) - joins the PPTOPA for the first
time. She is not new to this production, however, performing the juvenile lead
of Liesl almost 20 years ago with the Jamaica Musical Theater Company. Juliet
has also played Tevye’s daughter, Chava in the Company’s adaptation of Fiddler
on the Roof. She is married with one son and is a private piano teacher in
Pembroke MELISSA ADLER (Nun) - is glad to be back with PPTOPA. Since her last performance in L’il Abner, Melissa has been involved with the Flanagan High School’s Drama Program. Melissa has enjoyed working on The Sound of Music and is looking foward to working with PPTOPA in the years to come. MARY ANN RAYMOND (Nun) - first became involved in theater in Jamaica, W.I. ironically in a production of Sound of Music. While there, she sang professionally doing live concerts and studio recordings. She released an LP and several 45’s with her group “SPM.” She also did jingles and vocal backups for several artists including Johnny Nash and Byron Lee & the Dragonaires. She has done film work as an extra in the film “Wild Thing”. Now living in Pembroke Pines, this is her first time with community theater. STACEY L. MARINO (Children’s Choreographer) - has been a member of PPTOPA from the beginning. Usually, you can find her on stage where she last played Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes. However, this play she gets the rare opportunity to help the children in this play who are our future stars. Stacey would like to thank her wonderful husband Anthony and their 2 year old daughter Savannah, who is the apple of Stacey’s eye. MICHAEL DAY (Musical Director) - is a graduate of McGill University with a degree in compositions and performance. He has directed the Montreal Opera Society, Show Band for Celebrity Cruises, and has travelled Europe with orchestra and jazz ensembles. Locally, he has directed music in liturgical settings and clubs as a soloist and with an ensemble. He currenty teaches music in Dade County private school. STACEY CICHEWICZ is a long time member of The Pembroke Pines Theatre of the Performing Arts. She finds working alongside her mother a great pleasure. When not spending time with her grandchildren, Stacey is one of the instructors of the PPTOPA Jr. theatre program. SHERRY PARIS (Assistant to the Director) - is becoming more and more familiar with the role of director. Sherry was assistant director of our summer production Arsenic and Old Lace. Sherry is usually found on stage in some memorable role like Dommina in Fourm or Moonbeam McSwine in Li’l Abner. Where ever she is, Sherry is a tremendous asset to the success of PPTOPA. ANGIE BATCH (Assistant Director) - has enjoyed working side by side with Florence in her first time as an assistant director. Their last time working together was as the crazy Brewster Sisters in Arsenic and Old Lace. Angie has also been seen in L’il Abner, Anything Goes, and Kismet. FLORENCE ANDREWS (Director) - has been directing for many years. Most recently she directed Li’l Abner. Her dream is to have Pembroke Pines become the leader in bringing art and culture to the South Florida community. Florence dedicates this production to the memory of her father Ralph Sinclair.
