Upcoming Auditions

The Pembroke Pines Theatre of the Performing Arts (PPTOPA)

is holding auditions for its upcoming production

THERE’S A BURGLAR IN MY BED

a hilarious farce by Michael Parker

DIRECTOR
Jerry Jensen

PLOT

William Worthington III and his wife arrange trysts with their respective lovers in the estate's beach cottage. Inevitably their paths cross and divorce is in the air. Neither is willing to give up the world-famous Worthington necklace, so each devises a plan to steal it. True to the laws of farce, both simulated burglaries are scheduled for same night.

ROLES

ASHLEY WORTHINGTON - scheming, cold and calculating, but with a tender side, wife of Billy; typical New England "aristocrat"

EDWARD P. BROOKSTONE ("Teddy") - weak and shallow, but cunning; Ashley's lover; a man who would not fall in love with someone who wasn't wealthy

WILLIAM W. WORTHINGTON III  ("Billy") - kind and gentle, yet clever and manipulative; always conscious of his station in life

LARRAINE DuVAL ("Buffy") - gorgeous and seductive, self-centered, and determined; Billy's lover; money, position and power are all-important

WILLIAM DAVIS - brash and overbearing; so totally incompetent he becomes likable; a licensed private investigator whose success is a mystery

DEBORAH DuVAL - pretty and personable, but not a rocket scientist; willing and cheerful

MARIANNE VAN KLEEF - beautiful, sophisticated and sensuous, but not cheap in any way; a New England socialite who would be hard for any man to resist
